My work in the realm of news, PR, editorial and Commercial photography revolves around capturing pivotal moments that tell compelling stories. Each photograph I take is a window into current events, offering insights and perspectives that may otherwise go unnoticed. I strive to portray the human experience authentically, whether it’s documenting significant political rallies, cultural events, or everyday life in bustling urban settings. The challenge lies not only in the technical aspects of photography but also in the need to convey emotion and context through powerful imagery. I aim to engage viewers, prompting them to reflect on the world around them while showcasing the art of visual storytelling in the fast-paced landscape of modern journalism.

When I have a camera in my hand, I know no fear. Alfred Eisenstaedt.
"One doesn't stop seeing. One doesn't stop framing. It doesn't turn off and turn on, it's on all the time". Annie Leibovitz

These quotes sum it up perfectly for me, as a photographer and artist, I'm always watching the ever changing light, shapes and forms, colour and composition. I studied fine art in Plymouth before studying Editorial and Advertising photography in Gloucester. I fell in love with Black and White photography and photographing people,  environmental portraits, constantly inspired by the photographs in magazines such as Picture Post and National Geographic.

Having spent some time in London as a Photographers assistant, I spent three years working as a photographer and gallery manager traveling the world on cruise ships, loving every moment of travel and travel adventures.

Eventually I returned to my home county, Cornwall and gained a possition as a staff photographer for Apex News and Pictures, covering stories for the Cornish Guardian. In 2006 I  became a staff photographer for the Western Morning News, covering major news events and editorial features.  My work has appeared in regional and national papers and magazines, on the TV and world wide.

In 2009 The Western Morning News won EDF 'Front page of the year' with my image of a horrific story on cows with suspected TB.
